Better than Monsters Inc.

I hated "Monsters Inc." so much. It was the first Pixar feature that barely got a chuckle out of me. However "For The Birds", in my opinion, was a masterpiece. It proves what you can accomplish with storytelling in just three minutes. After it finished I knew "Monsters Inc." wouldn't let me down. But it did. Big time. Throughout the entire 90 minute feature I waited for the laughs but they just never came. When I left the theater I thought about two things. How incredibly disappointing "Monsters Inc." was and just how good that little three minute "For The Birds" short was. I would love to have a copy of "For The Birds" on DVD alone. It's too bad I would have to buy "Monsters Inc." in order to get it. I check on Ebay once and a while to see if someone is selling just the second disc lol. I was very pleased that so many people online agreed with me. Everyone else, except my girlfriend, thought this movie was great. If you haven't seen "Monsters Inc." already then don't bother. Instead I would definately recommend "Toy Story 1 & 2, "A Bug's Life", "Finding Nemo", and "Ice Age" (20th Century Fox). Ignore the following, "Shrek", (and probably "Shrek 2"), "Antz", and of course "Monsters Inc."....but you could rent it just to watch "For The Birds". Thanks for reading. =)

I agree with you on one thing, 'For The Birds' was definately the best 3 minutes of animated film I've ever seen.
But I liked Monsters Inc. too. It could not stand up to Ice Age, but it was fairly nice. But the thing that amazed me most is you telling people to ignore Shrek!?
I think that however nice pixars animation films are, Dreamworks always seems to have funnier movies and every aspect of shrek is 100% fun, except for maybe one exception. It contains a few kinda 'forced' film references that didn't add to the story at all, like the matrix reference. That seemed kinda lame, but apart from that, I and lots of other people loved it. I myself didnt like Toy Story and A Bugs Life that much, appart from the bloopers of A Bugs Life. On this account you should also watch the bloopers of Monsters Inc. Bottomline, films don't have to be long, to be very good. Those 6 awards for For The Birds where just ;)!

Monsters Inc. was entertaining and the animation and voice acting was first rate but its not funny.

But 'For the Birds' in my opinion is a masterpiece. It's makes the DVD worth getting.

I love Monster's Inc. It was funny to me. I'm glad that someone besides me has asense of humor. For the Birds is an entertaining short film, but to me it's not as good as the movie.

I bought the Monsters Inc. DVD (which is moderately entertaining)
ONLY for the "For the birds" short which was included....
I've never been sorry. The birds are brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!

Monsters, Inc. was my favorite Pixar film until "Up."

You can buy the Blu-Ray of Pixar shorts to get For the Birds without Monsters, Inc.

It's spelled Raymond Luxury Yacht, but it's pronounced 'Throat-Warbler Mangrove'
