The Plot

I... eh.

I have my own conclusions about what, why, how... where everyone in
3 A.M. is going, but Salgado's character still has me slightly
baffled. Does anyone else understand why Rodriguez's character is a
part of this movie, why she reacts the way she does to her past,
and why out of all of the characters she suffers the "most"?

i dont really get what she has to do with the arc relating to Hersheys character, and the film was more or less about him so im not really sure how she fit in, other than being a fellow taxi driver. but saying that im still glad she was in it cause i love her to bits so purely for that reason il watch the film
why she reacts the way she does to her past - she was an abused young girl whose mom(?) offered her up as a prostitute and it scarred her for life. later on she starts imagining that her demons are following her, after she kills one of the men her mom gave her to. she thinks the demons following her are manifested in the form of the guy who gets into the taxi that she ends up killing. shes supposed to be a tortured soul
why out of all the characters does she suffer most - cause thats what Lee Davis wrote, so she did it. she can only make the character based on what shes given, and i think she went one better cause there wasnt much there to start with.
what bothers me about the character of Salgado is that, where the rest of the main characters arcs are played out and issues resolved, her story is unresolved, it wasnt finished. she was wandering down the street at the end of the film and you never find out what happened to her, where she was going, if she got help, got arrested, anything...i didnt like that, i thought that if everyone else had their loose ends tied up they coulda taken the extra 5 minutes to finish her story too.
Michelle was great tho, as always. she got nominated for an award based on her performance here, which after Girlfight says a lot. the girl has talent, at the minute its just not obvious how much. oh and she got to work with Paul Calderon again after having just worked with him on Girlfight so that was kinda nice

Why is she a part of the movie? Uh, cuz it as written like that. Oh well. But yea...the person above me pretty much said what i was going to say and they made a very good point, why was she the only one that didn't get any kind of resolution? (it could also be argued that Box ended up the same way, as she was all depressed and crap at the end too)

I agree, but the film wasn't just about Hershey, it was about these three characters: Hershey, Rasha & Salgado. And shows the problems and how they all have their own individual stories going on. I felt really bad for her in here and she gave a great performance in here IMHO.
