WHY IS KENNY SO HOMOPHOBIC?

In season 1 or season 2, Byrd has an employee who cuts hair who is gay and is friedly with Ahmad. Kenny finds out the guy is gay, and Kenny flips out and does not want Ahmad talking to the guy. I think Kenny has issues.

The show needs to deal with homosexuality more. I am watching season 3 so I dont know if they continue to explore homosexuality in season 4.

I'm not sure but it looks like they just dropped it. The way the episode ended made me think they would come back to it. Did they ever? I haven't seen all of the episodes.

R.I.P. Whitney, forever in our hearts. R.I.P. Johnny Otis, Etta James. You will be missed.

Soulfood portrays real life black people and in the inner city homosexuality is thought to be something you can catch from someone who's like that thus Kenny being hiked up. continueing that storyline wouldn't be necessary as their wasn't any need to, kenny is homophobic and wont change anytime soon and that's it. Remember they even explore the whole lesbian thing with bird and that friend of hers and it didn't come to anything. All in all SoulFood was a masterpiece one that should have gotten more highlights and goon on longer. But i guess that's how it is with black shows they always get left behind and that needs to change.

this!!
this is a lot of homophobia in the Black community.
And Kenny's phobia is real and was necessary in the show.

"Do you even remember what you came here to find?"

The only time - that I can remember - is in either season 4 or 5 and Maxine says something along the lines of "You need to stop being so homophobic, Kenny" during one of their conversations. But other than that, it just seems to have been accepted as being "how Kenny is". Max didn't like it - especially since it affected Ahmad - but as stubborn as Kenny is I guess she figured she couldn't change it.

Maybe he thinks he'll influence his son.

He did mention that...but I feel like it was kind of a cop-out excuse. Besides, towards the end of the episode Ahmad told him he already knew and it didn't bother him.

Because not everyone agrees with homosexuality, and frankly I'm glad the show doesn't talk about it. It's sickening and against God's law....I don't understand why You want to see perversion on television.
