Can't Stand Kenny

I just started watching the series now and Kenny has to be the most unlikeable character of the show. He beats up his brother-in-law when he tries to help out his son. Cheats (emotionally) on his wife and manages to be a jerk to both his wife and Lyla. He forbids his son to hang out with Michael Ealy's character b/c he's gay. I can't stand him! I pretty much watch to see Boris anyway lol

He was flawed as a person, but still a good guy. No one on that show was perfect which made the show great to me. He was hard working, but kind of a the stubborn throwback mentality. He loved his kids and wanted a great life for them. Can't knock the man as a whole, just parts were flawed

I love Kenny.

His grandstanding was obnoxious. It's like he was always waiting for a studio audience to applaud what he just said.

Yeah, he has his annoying moments but that is part of his character. Everyone is the family doesn't mind gay people or let things bother them like he does. So for him to react to things they otherwise would not, it's kind of refreshing because he does get bothered. Like Maxine getting bothered and obsessed over what happened in the past between him and Teri at some concert.

But I think he would be the same way about his young daughter hanging out with a straight man. Maybe he was just being careful and cautious. Some grown ups are attracted to young kids. Adults do molest kids. As a parent, I think he wanted to protect his underage son against the possibility. The gay guy was practically a stranger to him. I think it makes sense that Kenny would be leery. Maybe the gay guy had innocent intentions, but there's always a possibility, so why take that chance with your child. Once rape/molestations happens, it's done. Better be safe than sorry. It comes down to what's more important, your child's safety or the gay guys' feelings.

btw -- I was reading actor Todd Bridges' autobiography (Willis from "Different Stroke) and he stated that his manager was a male who was gay and his manager would molest him, so maybe Kenny was trying to prevent this from happening to his son. I can't fault him for that.

There was also a case where an older guy was molesting an underage teen boy. I saw this on the Oxygen channel.
