"You can't take a picture of this, it's already gone"

Regarding the final moments of the series finale, does anyone else start to lose it with this line? So accurate and therefore so poignant. Another hard-hitting moment - Claire's losing Nate in the side-view mirror.

reply

The only time I can watch it is when I'm alone, unless you want to see a grown ass man cry. Seeing Nate vanish while song picks up, forgetaboutit.

reply

Its weird This show has managed in its three final episodes make me cry like a mofo TWICE
I usually never cry watching film or tv but This show it gutted me especially the end...

I cried pretty much throughout the last 2 episodes. My husband was unsettled, he said he's never seen me react that way to a show before. There's just something about Six Feet Under that completely guts me, and that last episode, I'm just a puddle of tears the whole thing through.

That line though - OMG. Brilliant. Nate jogging in Claire's mirror and disappearing? My heart shattered into a thousand pieces.

reply

Yes. Definitely. That line and him running after the car in the side-view. Both of those parts kill me. Also in the last episode when David wakes up from his dream of confronting his demon and Nate is sitting on the bed and gives him that look and half-smile, it's so perfect.

Followed up by Nate jogging after her in the rear new, in the same clothes he words in the pilot... Probably my favorite scene of the finale, even moreso than the acclaimed montage.

reply

I'm glad I watched the finale alone, so no one could see me sobbing. And yup, I'm a dude. :)

"This is dead air, Barry....dead air."

reply

Wait wait wait...So you're saying that men are allowed to cry now?

reply

I am indeed. Breaking news...
