The old "bone shaker" prop planes needed a rest. In modern times, if there is a mid flight emergency it is nice to be near an airport. So, if the Brussels's bound flight went down mid-Atlantic it is not too much of stretch to believe Icelandic fisherman would have found her. That is if you believe one can survive a crash into the sea.
