If he was disowned by his family then presumably he wouldn't have access to their finances. I get that films are unrealistic but it just really stuck out that they lived in this massive mansion in England.
shareDon't forget that Rahul had certainly complete fine studies in England and develop there friendship and relations that certainly help him to find a really good job. No doubt that's why they moved to London and not somewhere else.

You might be right. But if he had not been wealthy on his own, there would be the possibility that he reunited with his father at least partly to return to a life of luxury. The way it is, we have no doubts he was motivated purely by love for his parents.
