for sale?

Does anyone know where I can buy a copy of Boyz Voice? Preferably with English subtitles...I have to see it again, I must.

You can buy the DVD, and moreover the fantastic CD, from Norwegian Internet shop www.zailor.no. They deliver abroad and they also have information in English on their site. I am afraid however that their DVD does not have English subtitles and I do not actually think that the film has ever been released with those, probably because the makers of the film have not realised how popular the film is in several countries outside of Norway. I suppose you can always e-mail them and complain via their production company website www.seefood.no/kontakt.htm.

If you do not want to buy the film without subtitles, I can truly recommend buying the brilliant Boyzvoice CD instead from www.zailor.no. It has become one of my absolute favorite albums over the past year, being so horribly bad and tasteless that it is actually good. It features full-lenght versions of all the songs in the film and also includes Boyzvoice's two incredibly silly smash hit singles "Library Girl" - about public libraries, where girls offer you free assistance in a whispering voice, being the world's most romantic places - and "Let Me Be Your Father Xmas" - about the awful moment when you first realise that Father Christmas does not really exist, but is simply a disguised relative. Both songs climbed the charts in Norway in the year 2000 and "Let Me Be Your Father Xmas" actually sold more than 30000 copies...

I have this film on DVD, and GOOD NEWS; it is WITH subtitles.

I know 100% for sure, cause I took it along to show it to some foreign friends once, and then I checked prior to seeing it.

So if you find the DVD, rest assured that you'll be able to watch it.

Wavy, did you get this DVD from Zailor?

Or from somewhere else?

Yes the Norwegian DVD-version has optional ENGLISH subtitles so any foreigner wanting to see it, just get it through some Norwegian. Lord knows there are more than enough of those people on the web (I'm one of them :)

Are the subtitles good/readable? I know with some subtitling, esp over in Asia, it can be notoriously bad like; white subtitles over white.

You can try talking to sbs and see if they can order it in for you..

BUT..

the dvd isn't for sale at all in Australia. I ordered my copy from Zailor.no (an online norwegian retailer.)

I've written about ordering it in the thread "Re: DVD available (details enclosed)".

Just to reconfirm: I bought a DVD of this film ages ago, and it has English subtitles, plus extended music videos and a few extra music videos that are not in the film. It is one my most prized DVDs, and I recommend everyone to buy it. The version I bought was bought in a Norwegian CD/DVD store in Norway, but you should ba able to find it on a few online stores, maybe E-bay (only idiots would auction this away) or Amazon, or maybe CDON.com Norway (if they deliver abroad or not, I have no idea).

The subtitles on my DVD are not ALWAYS great, but much better than Asian standard. Sometimes you miss out a couple of funny lines, and sometimes the translation is not too good. But it is definitely good enough to watch, understand, and totally enjoy the film, I know, I showed it to some friends, and they loved it so much they wanted to watch it two more times. The best thing to do, however, is to watch it with someone who can fill in the small gaps left by the subtitles.
