this movie is the best thing that has ever existed.

ever.

lol. i love this movie. i love how Ove's voice breaks all the time LOLOL...and how awkward and starstruck he is by boyzvoice. ahahaha. i taped this movie when it was on sbs (god bless sbs) and when I moved to canada, i brought it along with me, to share the boyzvoice genius...but it won't play on the VCR here! haha. god dammit. so it either got stuffed in the xray machine in customs...or it's not a PAL VHS. Either way, I am boyzvoice-less...and all I have are the memories lololol.

i need to purchase this movie!! i guess everyone is in the same boat? haha. i almost want to learn norwegian just to be able to appreciate this movie fully lol.

one day, this movie will be recognised and critically acclaimed...and when that moment comes, won't it be awesome to say "i was a fan when it was underground"? haha. even though it sounds ridiculous to say that about something that is overtly about pop culture and the mainstream.

anyway. the gist of this post is, let's all go to norway, watch the movie, sing the songs, maybe get a bit drunk and praise espen eckbo like we should.

Learn norwegian so you can see all the other funny stuff Espen makes. He is truly a great comedian!

reply

heh! yeah that would be awesome. i have seriously thought about it too :| haha. maybe i will.
one day :)

I loved this movie so much. It is IMHO without a doubt much funnier than Spinal Tap. What other Espen movies would you recommend Billy Bob?? I don't speak norwegian but I will look for the sub files.

reply

Hi

If you loved the movie I presume you would enjoy the music vidoes they created.
They made 8 vidoes which are included on the DVD and they're pretty funny...

Hello Kathryn500,
Get Ready to be Boyzvoiced. I loved this movie. I laughed for days after about it. I think it should be shown more often here in Australia as I did see it on SBS a couple of years ago. Its amazing how many people haven't seen it.
I was addicted to the movie after I saw it the first time, and have purchased a copy. I went through a website and actually bought it and it works fine on my computer and DVD player at home. It is copyright protected and I can't make copies of it, but will check out the website that I went through and give you that information. It was a norwegian website, but if I can work my way through it - knowing no norwegian at all ! anyone can. I know I got worried because it seemed to take awhile to get here, but it did and I treasure my copy. I will check back here soon with the details for you.

cheers
Jules
yeah I have to admit it - I just loved it and wished they had actually done more movies after it.

Haha, that's great!! How awesome must it be to have it on DVD. You are obliged to show it to everyone you know lol...You could have a Boyzvoice party! Spike your hair up and spray it silver like M'Pete lololol.

The details of that site would be great! I think I have tried to look at a Norweigan DVD site before...and I couldn't make heads nor tails of it...your lack of Norwegian must be superior than my lack of Norwegian aha.

Hehe...I was lucky enough to catch a bit of it one time when it screened on SBS...then the next time it came on (which was a couple of years ago) I got my tape out to record it. So I do have it on VHS but I'd like to spread the word...so a DVD would be awesome lol.

Once I have it on DVD...we should start a national Boyzvoice day, and have simultaneous parties going ahaha.

reply

Hey Kathryn500,

Great Idea ! Count me in - I am all for the national Boyzvoice day. It should be a must on everyone's calender. Once you see the movie and see the additional songs that Espen and the others sing - you will be amazed with the new comedy release by Glenn Robbins (from Kath & Kim)!!

Anyway - I was brave I guess going through this website and not knowing what all the *beep* norwegian words were, but it worked and I have the copy. I must admit I was addicted and searched everywhere for a couple of months before I found this website and like you - just needed to have my own copy LOL :)

Anyway - using this way, it does take a few weeks for the DVD to arrive. I was really perspiring and started to think it was a scam, BUT it did turn up as they said it would. What got me was I thought I had seen something about the DVD being delivered in so many days - not so many months - but from there to Australia - it obviously takes longer.

Just make sure when you give your address details you really spell it out and put Australia, otherwise they will send it around the globe first LOL

Okay - this is exactly what I did.

1. Go to this website - www.dvdhuset.no
(don't worry about the norwegian bit - I got thru it- you can)

2. Left hand side of screen see - Produktkategori:

3. Click in the drop-down box underneath, and select DVD

4. Underneath see - Søk etter produkt

5. Click in box underneath. type all lower case - get ready to be boyzvoiced
Hit ENTER

You'll see a picture of the DVD and also a bit of norwegian text on the movie.

6. Click on the link below the picture - Se Bakside (if you want - then close that screen)
** (Also, you can Scroll to bottom of screen - and see some other DVDs with Espen in them. (not sure if they have subtitles or not - one day I will be game and try and get a copy LOL).

OK - NOW scroll up the screen, click on the - 'orange shopping trolley'.

7. Click on the title 'Get Ready to be Boyzvoiced'.
This shows you the details of the DVD, ie format, price (in norwegian) ie 149-

and again - scroll down and click on the - 'orange shopping trolley'.

NEXT -
A screen opens and the top part of the order automatically has a '1' entered for number of copies to purchase. If it has any other number - make it the number 1 - you don't want to end up paying for 10 copies to be sent. Underneath you will see payment options -

8. Click on the bottom option - 'international, pay in advance'

9. Click on the orange box 'Ga videre'

10. Finally, at this point - you are now ready to enter in your correct full email and contact address details. (Don't forget your Full address, State, Postcode, and Country as well as phone contact details, and also any other information/comments you wish to put in for them) i.e. estimated time for delivery to Australia???

** Also at the top of the screen above your informaton you will see their bank details etc. for a deposit transaction to be done by you.

Once you enter all your information -

11. Click on the orange box 'send bestilling'
You will now receive an email direct through to your email address.

12. Once you receive the email, you have about 5 working days to complete the transfer of the money - otherwise they do not go ahead with the order.

13. Once you have sent the money, you wait and you will receive the DVD. It does take time.

14. I used Travelex through my bank so that I could have the money deposited to their account, but also so I could have a trace on where the money went.

** Your bank will work out the exchange rate and the total cost to you.
Travelex is one of the safest ways of transferring money internationally. You will need to print out the email and take it to the bank to give them the details (ie the company's direct bank details).

and .... there you go! thats the process I used and it worked.

I am now the proud owner (and maybe first owner in Australia) of the "Get Ready to be Boyzvoiced" DVD.

** At first it would not play in my DVD Player, I ran it on my computer -it worked fine, put it back in DVD player and it worked beautifully. It is copy-protected so I can't save it to my computer to copy :( even for a backup copy for myself.

Hope this helps --- its a bit long-winded but you should be able to print this off and follow it - good luck and let me know how you get on :)

We can definitely organise that public holiday for a national Get ready to be Boyzvoiced day celebration !!

You can register with that website - however - I did not and you don't need to to purchase a copy of the movies through them.

cheers
Jules

Wow!! Thanks for those instructions, that's so very kind of you to go through that for me haha. I'm sure it'll be useful for other desperate Boyzvoice fans too hehehe. I will so go and do all that over Christmas! At the moment I am a poor uni student, so it wouldn't be the best idea to spent my rent on a DVD LOL...but it's such a good movie, it's very tempting to haha.

Really though, thank you so much for taking the time to write all that down! So nice! I can tell you are truly dedicated to Boyzvoice and spreading the hilarity haha.

I saw some of the clips on YouTube to tide me over...they have Library Girl and Let Me Be Your Father Christmas which I hadn't seen! So I was stoked by that haha. I also watched a random clip of Espen painting a wall and talking naked...even though it was in Norwegian I could tell that it was hilarious ahaha.

One thing I really liked about Glenn Robbins in Boytown was his dancing...he and Bob Franklin are just...hilarious dancers haha.

What other movies do you like? If you like Boyzvoice enough to navigate through a Norwegian website, I am guessing you realllllly love it...so perhaps we have similar taste. How crazy is it to know that we're missing out on all Espen's other comedy!?!? I really want to learn Norwegian just for that haha. Perhaps before the Boyzvoice public holiday, everyone can enrol in Norwegian for beginners haha.

Alright, thanks again for that! You're a legend :)

It's nice to see that this gem of a movie is popular outside of Norway. Espen Eckbo is truly a genius and I can assure you that you are missing out on his other stuff. Especially the reality show parody "Nissene På Låven", where 24 people dressed as santas live on a barn from December 1st to Christmas Eve and one gets voted out every day. Timothy Dale is one of them and Espen plays two characters, which are both totally hilarious. Unfortunately, there are no English subtitles on the DVD, so you have to learn Norwegian, but it's totally worth it :P

reply

LOL Taeivon, that santa show sounds hilarious. You should write a letter to Espen on our behalf, asking him to get some English subtitles going haha. Except I think learning Norwegian sounds like fun, so maybe I'll give that a go haha.

Its amazing how this stupid (stupid as in AWESOME) Norwegian movie has caught on in Australia of all countries.
It warms my Norwegian heart.

"Har Du Ikke Ren Underbukse På Deg?" - Elling, from the movie by the same name

Not the first owner of the boyzvoice dvd in Australia - :) I got my copy in July 2005 from Zailor.no . There is post from me somewhere down the board about how I got my copy(I think I posted under a different nick (pennyroyal?)- then I changed email accounts and then forgot my password so I had to get a new account) :)

(oh and from Zailor, I did get it within 5 days as well (maybe less, I can't remember) - from Norway to Australia. They sent it priority airmail which was the only postage option they offered for international orders).
