Two episodes I’ll never forget

I’m pretty sure both of these were episodes of Forensic Files. The first involved a dentist who sexually assaulted a patient while she was under anesthesia. She was positive he’d done it, but when they took a blood sample from him the DNA didn’t match. I think they tried again later and it still didn’t match. It turned out he’d inserted a small vial of someone else’s blood in his arm, and that’s what was being tested. He was eventually caught and convicted.

The other case involved a man who killed his wife (?) shortly before their divorce (?), or it may have been a woman who going to testify against him. He claimed he was fishing all day, and even had video footage to back up his alibi. Experts were able to track the shadows compared to the time stamp on the camera. He had changed the time on the camera to make it appear he’d been on the lake fishing all day. He was caught and convicted.

The first was the John Schneeberger case. He got caught because he had done the same to his stepdaughter.

The second was the Kevin Brian Dowling case. He murdered a woman who had accused him of having robbed and assaulted her.

The most memorable episode to me will always be the first one, the Helle Crafts case.😖

My favorite episode was the one where the guy killed two cops in California and didn't get caught until 54 years later.
