Are you sure this was a Forensic Files episode? The part about putting guns and other items in a bag reminds me of the episode "In The Bag," which highlights the murder of Jack and Linda Myers, but it may not be the one you're thinking of.
Its kind of fuzzy because there were like 3 different FF episodes that I know of that guns and loot were bagged and tossed.
I watched so many of them so not positive.
