Does anyone know what happened to Peter Thomas?

I know there is already a thread about this but I just had to ask. On Saturday I tried to watch the episode about a man who was killing prostitutes and removing their eyeballs. But without Peter Thomas I just couldn't watch anymore. There is just something about him. You can tell that he feels bad about the crimes he is narrating and this new narrator doesn't have that quality, IMO.

The new narrator sounds like he may be a relative of Peter Thomas, probably a son or grandson? Anyway I searched the internet to see what happened to Peter and I haven't read anything that said he passed away or was sick.

If any of the producers read these message boards, please let Peter Thomas know that he is missed. Next to Bill Curtis and Robert Stack, he is one of the best crime story narrators I have ever heard.

His name is Peter Dean, but he is not a new narrator, since Forensic Files ceased production in 2011. Peter Dean narrated several one-hour FF specials that originally aired on The Learning Channel (TLC), the show's original home where it aired in the late '90s under the name Medical Detectives. Those one-hour specials aired on TLC in 2001, by which time the show was airing on Court TV and was being phased out of TLC.

Peter Thomas is 91 years old and living in Florida, where he has been living for many years. In 2013, two years after FF ceased production, Thomas did voiceover work for Cool Whip commercials.

Can we get him to record every eord and name imaginable so he can still do them even when he retires or something :)

Paul Dowling, the show's producer, said legalities prevented Thomas from recording 3 episodes due to legalities since they were going to be shown on a different network.
