Looking for a crime documentary as good as this one!

Do you guys know of any similar crime documentaries that are as good as forensic files?

I use to like the one with the blonde lady in Florida. That was a pretty good show too. Haven't seen it in a couple years or so.

Well, most people are idiots with bad taste...so there!

You mean Dayle Hinman of Body of Evidence? I saw that show, too. Anyway, I watch Unusual Suspects, my favorite Investiagion Discovery series.

, thanks!

There were some pretty good episodes of "Wicked Attraction". I almost didn't watch that series because of the first season of episodes were so poorly edited for effect (shaky camera, rough unnecessary static cuts). But once you get into season 2, there were decent episodes, although not as consistently good as Forensic Files.

Never seen 'Wicked Attraction'.

Its premise is couples (sometimes romntic couples but not always so) that commit crimes. Usually they explain how one might have been submissive to the other.

I found that with that tight of a premise many of the shows seemed to be too similar to each other.

Gangsters - America's most evil.

The Hunt with John Walch and Disappeared.

The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst

The Jinx was pretty intense.

Anyway, ID Discovery has lots of similar docs.

Sins and Secrets is good. These aren't necessarily focusing mainly on forensics, but dateline mystery, and 48hrs mystery are good docs too.

Be sure to check out "Making a Murderer" streaming on Netflix. It follows the same story and is 10 episodes long. Probably one of the best documentaries I've seen.

Also, "Snapped" is okay but not as good as FF.

If you can find it "City Confidential" was really good. It's difficult to find old episodes though.

I could barely make it through the first episode of "Making a Murderer." I found it to be quite boring. I'm in no rush to finish the rest of the series.

reply

Sorry to hear that. Everyone I've recommended it to has become hooked on it.

Same here. Watched the first episode on YouTube then just read up on the details of the what happened online.

Forensic Files has spoiled me. I'm not wasting 10 hours watching one case.

Me neither. Especially when said documentary is biased in favor of someone who is probably guilty or at the very least is a complete dirtbag. Couldn't they find a more sympathetic wrongfully convicted person?

reply

After I read about the final days/moments of the victim Teresa it made it hard for me to sleep.

I actually saw people writing "Whether he's guilty or not doesn't matter. His case wasn't handled properly blah blah blah...". I saw Discovery ID is going to be doing their own documentary covering both sides. If it's an hour or two I might check that one out.

Snapped on the Oxygen Network is good.

I really like the show "Homicide Hunter: Det. Joe Kenda" on Investigation Discovery. It's the best show on that channel, in my opinion. My cable company offers several seasons of it for free thru On Demand, so check yours as well. :)
