It's not perfect, but the NewsHour gives a good 75% of the important news

NewsHours has its boxes that it doesn't stray from, as does Democracy Now or any other news show, but it does a really good job and they have quality intelligent people, above the national average and not trying to be in your face celebrities.

Plus they have Shields and Brooks who are two good opinion commentators from the real middle of the road, which you don't much see anymore. Shields needs to pull his weight, he agrees with Brooks too often, and Brooks often apologizes for or agrees with the authoritarian right-wingers, but still great to hear both points of view together at the same time without hateful bickering.
