Mediocre show at best...would of lasted longer on BET.

Let's face it..this show was geared toward the "urban youths" (*ahem* black kids) as Dewayne McDuffie, a black writer for the black comic publications, Milestone Comics, planned it to be. I mean who else would you get Little Romeo and Shaq to guest star??? Throw in a white sidekick and everything is politically correct for television. Now, comic books aside, the show was indeed a mediocre success as an urban kids show. Still, it outlasted the Zeta Project (and that show was more entertaining). I can't really speak for the masses and of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion...but my reasoning for thinking this show is the worst DCAU creation is: the biased urban tones, every theme song in the show is a stupid kiddie rap of some kind, and the fact that Static, a pretty cool character in the comics is portrayed as a blase "superhero" solving playing ground crimes and fighting dopey criminals. I have to agree with some of the posters on these threads that the only episodes worth watching are the cross-over ones.

Oh and another Milestone character, Icon, is nothing but Superman painted black in an ugly costume, plain and simple. Milestone ripped off Superman because they obviously need a heavy hitter and don't have any original ideas of their own, so who else to copy and call it their "own idea" other than the "Icon" of the DCU himself, The Man of Steel. DC should've sued the hell out of Milestone. And point-of-order, Superman was still proven stronger than Icon in the comics, no matter how Milestone's feeble attempts tried to make him as strong as Superman.

If I don't reply to your post, it means i don't care. If I do reply...I'm just bored.

i watched the show when iwas younger and i did not live in an urban city, i lived in a rural suburban area, and i liked the show. And BET would've ruined this show.

"every theme song in the show is a stupid kiddie rap of some kind"
how does one show have a bunch of theme songs? i dont remember the theme song to this show that well, but i am positive that 1) there was only one theme song and 2) if there was another theme song, it was changed half way through the series.

Have you ever seen Danny Phantom? That show's theme song is a rap...do you have a problem with that? I'm going to guess that you don't.

it seems like your biggest problem with this show is that the character is black and it takes place in a city. So my next question to you is, why do you have problem with a superhero in a part of the city where there are mostly minorities ("black youths")?

The show did have three, and the final one was by Lil Romeo, which was bad ass actually.

And don't listen to him or her, this show was fine as it is.

There were three themes? I only remember two: the original and the one by Lil Romeo (I didn't like that one). I'll admit to being black and living in the big city (Chicago). However, I was middle-aged when this show hit the air and loved it. Static being black was one of the reasons I watched, but the action and writing kept me watching. For the record, watched Batman and Superman's shows too and enjoyed them as well.
