Don't get me wrong, I love the 2D Sonic games. But I loved this game so much, I think it was unfairly criticised. It made an excellant transition from 2D to 3D and some of the stages were so memorable. I guess the idea of a 3D hub wasn't for everyone, but I thought it was a great idea which was really inviting towards the player.
Anyone else agree?

I do! This was a great game. It has and will remain my favorite game. I really like SA2 as well mostly for the multiplayer. But Chaos was the coolest evil boss. Imagine Perfect Chaos vs. Bowser(Mario). I believe we all know who the winner is.....
shareIn my opinion, the only good 3D Sonic games are the Sonic Adventure games. It's a shame because I was hoping that Sonic Heroes would be good but I ended up hating it!. I also think the Sonic Adventure games are underrated as well, and they're simply some of the best Sonic games out there.

Don't you know it! I absolutely love this game still as it had a story line with good heart! Amy was actually worth something in this game not only that the music is to die for.
What are you talking about, "underrated?" This was one of the most successful launch titles in gaming history! Everyone with a Dreamcast had this game. Underrated? Jet Grind Radio, Shenmue, Rez...THOSE were underrated. Name an underrated game that got three different ports (Gamecube, PC, Dreamcast)!

It was well received and to this day is still the best Sonic game there has been.
