It’s beter to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all

though, i don't agree at all with that centuries-old (at least) sentiment(ality) - or, in the words of yes: "owner of a lonely heart, much better than an owner of a broken heart..." - i do completely agree that this is marvellous little indie film.

the witty dialogue, the lightening - though, not trivializing - of the heavy main subject (cancer), and the direction, that keeps the tone of the film even so that it doesn't fall into made-for-tv pulp; it gives me a reason to watch a movie about cancer patients.

lynn: "and what kind do you have?"
taylor: "oh, i've got colon...the sexy cancer!"
lynn: "ooooh, chocolate! my favourite."

p.s., i also love the title of the film! "the medicine show" starts you thinkin' you're gonna see clowns performing magical medical tricks or something. :-)
