Even for being 'just a movie,' Juwanna Mann has too many problems.

Before you say "It's only a movie," recognize that the vast majority of movies make an attempt to show a degree of realism. Even the most improbable science fiction movie or a high-quality horror movie tries to make the surrealism work within the context of the movie. But Juwanna Mann is just hopeless. Keep in mind that while it was supposedly a comedy, it was also one of those cliche "valuable lesson" cross-dressing movies about "how a guy can only really know himself by walking a mile in a woman's shoes." That means there was intent for the movie to a purpose. Here are a handful of stuff that's never explained:

- If the guy is supposedly a superstar in the movie's version of the NBA, there's no way a wig and some make-up would prevent him from being found out immediately.

- Juwanna Mann is a really great basketball player, but it doesn't occur to anybody to ask where "she" played college ball. She just comes out of nowhere.

- "She" spends the whole season in the locker room full of naked girls. But when they discover she's really a dude, they just shrug this off...and even give him one of the team's championship rings.

- When the world discovers Juwanna Mann is really a guy, "her" team would surely have been disqualified from playing for the championship even if they had no idea their teammate was a male. When a single member of a track & field relay team is found to be cheating through steroids or whatever, the rest of the team has to forfeit their Olympic medals even if they were unaware of their teammate's activities.

Good points. I've watched a little of this movie on HBO and there's things that have been bothering me:

-Why didn't anybody call out on Juwanna Mann trying to grab "her" teammates a sses. Seriously no one says "WTF is your problem?". Hell one of them lets "her" give her a massage: yes let the horny teammate give you a massage. There's nothing stupid about that.

-Why does Vivica A. Fox's character keep pushing Puff Smokey Smoke on Juwanna? She doesn't love him: let it go!

-Why doesn't Juwanna pee in a stall? It would have been a lot less awkward. Oh wait it would be funny if 2 guys saw Juwanna pee: let's throw all common sense out of the window so a character who doesn't even seem to be an idiot can be the butt of a joke.

-Why doesn't Juwanna even seem to be making his voice a little feminine? Seriously Rob Schneider made a more convincing woman in The Hot Chick!

I call movies that are considered 'bad' hated movies.
