Give Juwanna Mann a break...

This move is far from perfect so dont get me wrong but this movie is enjoyable. Why do so many people think it was a mistake to even release this film? Give me a break!I know the acting and the plot arent great and it is pretty predictable but what would you expect? The truth is is that this movie had a good amount of chuckles in it and a couple laugh out loud moments in it which is all that i could ask for from this movie. The bar wasnt set very high for this movie, and for that reason i believe it cleared that bar pretty easily. I wasnt expecting much, but to my delight i got a quite enjoyable movie. Does anybody agree with me?

I don't want to insult you or anything, but I really just hate this movie. Maybe you liked it, but I think it's one of the worst movies ever made.

This is really your favorite movie? Not LOTR, Godfather, Shawshank Redemption, or Star Wars, but Juwanna Mann? I'm sorry, but I think you should really see more movies.

I didn't freak out over it. You don't need to tell me to chill, but I just found it weird that in a world with so many great movies that Juwanna Mann was your favorite at the time, that's all. I didn't call you an idiot for liking it or anything.

Eh I dont hate it. But I hate the fact that movies are just put out to be put out and have maybe 2 funny lines in them, and those are ruined by them being said in the trailer 20 times a day...

the movie is pretty stupid but at least it's funny....i laughed a lot throughout the movie and i thought it was funny and enjoyable. but still, i wouldnt give it more than 2 out of 5.

It all depends on your mood I suppose. It's not TOO bad...but it's not great. I like Miguel Nunez because he was in Return of the Living Dead and he was awesome as hell in that.

Am I Insane? YES!!

its one of those comedies that is stupid that its actually funny and you laugh...u gotta be in the mood for it yeah.

its not like its the worst movie made, it made me laugh.

Exactly!

I will agree that Juwanna Mann is an incredible movie. It isn't great in the storyline - but I have seen worse. It is extremely predictable, but it follows a tried and true pattern - this is no different than anything else that Hollywood puts out. The comedy is somewhat (what I would call it) stupid - but there have been other good movies that follow the same formula. This doesn't make the movie bad if they pull it off. Following the path of other similar movies such as Tommy Boy, Necessary Roughness (ok, so I am biased on this one), Son-In-Law, Revenge of the Nerds...this is a movie that succeeds on it's strong merits.

It may not have the top tier acting - it doesn't claim to.
It may not have the best script in the world - it doesn't claim to.

It is predictable, and light hearted with a sincere message - and it succeeds brilliantly at that. So don't hold this film accountable for something it never makes claim to be, and take it for what it is worth.

Juwanna Mann was a good movie. Vivica A Fox put a good spin on it. It was a very funny movie.

I may be the only one, but I thought that the acting in this was as good as in any movie I've ever seen. Nunez, Davidson, and Corley's performances were very strong, Pollak and Lewis were flawless, and even though Vivica basically plays the same role in every movie, she does a damn good job of it. Never for a moment did the acting of any of the main characters cause me to snap back to reality while watching the movie. They were all very immersed into their roles.

I think if you can knock anything about this movie, it's the cliché storyline and often trying too hard to inject humor into certain places.

I just watched this today and honestly...I was pleasantly surprised. It was very stupid, yes, but it kept me entertained, had some funny moments, and I thought Nunez delivered a pretty good performance, both as Jamal and Juwanna. But they let him stay in the woman's league at the end? Is that what happened? Cause the jersey he was wearing...I thought that was a little strange. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Overall I gave this a 7 out of 10.

If you like it, fine.

However, I dislike films where eveyrone has to act stupid in order for the movie to work. Nunez's character looked nothing like a woman, but everyone glossed over that fact so the movie could continue. The same goes for White Chicks, where neither Wayans borther looked remotely like a female.

reply

He actually got let back into the men's league with some help from his female teammates.

id say 6/10 ...its way better than some *beep* rated higher than it

No.

I don't think its that bad of a movie. Is it 10 star material, good heavens no, but it is still enjoyable.
