Subtle Beatles reference?

In the scene right after the guy (Mark), who got chewed out by his boss (Ron Perlman) for blabbing to the newspaper, he was talking to the black dude (Murphy) & they mentioned someone who'd died. Murphy said- "He blew his mind out in a car"

That's a line right outta "A Day in the Life". It was too word-for-word for me to believe it was a coincidence. :)
