I must admit I decied to tune into this movie because as I was channel surfing and I read this title, I thought it was some kind of porno movie. I thought some guy was running around doing the deed and letting people ride down "The Shaft". When I tuned in and read the synopsis I ended up watching one of the most unintentionally funniest horror movies ever made. The part where the elevator kills about ten people before flying through the ceiling is just a masterpiece. Does Naomi Watts love to play journalists in horror movies? I think she does.

But you are right: this movie is hilarious. And thankfully, we are geting drunker as the movie gets worse and worse, so we're actually having quite a bit of fun with The Shaft...

The movie is intentionally hilarious. I don't think for a moment the filmmakers ever made this to be a serious horror film. Just look at the daycare worker--that is proof positive that they were going for tongue-in-cheek camp.
