Question about Carla's sex scene with Curtis...

I feel stupid for not understanding this, but why did Carla tell Danny to meet her, and have him see her having sex with Curtis?

reply

Because, I think, she wanted Danny to see her having sex with Curtis, prompting him to respond appropriately (at least according to her tastes). Which, eventually, he does.

Overall, the whole sadomasochistic/mutually exploitative relationship between Carla and Danny is very deftly handled; it both advances and enriches the plot, and is one of the best examples of legitimate use of kinky sex for cinematographic purposes I've seen since Last Tango In Paris, or maybe Henry and June. . (OK, I'll give you The Secretary.)

I didnt understand that scene. Who was carla having sex with? Someone in her house? It wasnt clear.

Also how come after that scene, she hung out with danny every day listening to his anti-semitic rants and not with her lover anymore. That was odd. Didnt her lover or sex buddy complain? Was this in the true story?
