'stand by me'

Does anybody know who's version of "Stand by me" that was played in an episode? The singer is a woman and the mood is very laid back, not upbeat or lively somewhat similar to an Enya song without the instruments. I recall that in that particular scene, Lydia is standing alone somewhere in the house and the mood is quite sad. I can't remember the exact episode. I hope that's enough information. I've been searching for that particular song to no avail. Somebody help. :)
