It's been years since I've seen this show, but I seem to recall an episode where Miranda's mom or both her parents came to town. Does anyone one else remember this, and if so, what was the episode?

Yes, it was Season 2 Ep 5 "Lost Souls". It was Miranda's Mum , and Miranda was Very uncomfortable about it.
