Netflix? iTunes? Anything?

Can't we get this show available on Netflix or iTunes? Or even Amazon Prime? I'd love a DVD release, but at this point I'd just settle for a digital download. There's got to be a legal outlet for this show to be available to watch again. The RIAA can blather on all they want about how much they love and protect music artists, but this is the end result of their work--shows that aren't available to watch because of arcane, outdated legal rules that prevent shows from being made available to their loyal fans.

You're not going to find a legitimate copy of ED anywhere, and its well known it is because the producers can't get the music rights to release it on DVD, at least not at an affordable price. Ie, they could release the series, but it would cost something like $10 per episode, thus they don't release it because nobody is going to pay $240 per season.

However, that does not mean that downloadable copies of the entire series can't be obtained, just its a copyright violation if you figure out how to use B-i-T-T-O-R-R-E-N-T to download a copy.

I'd like an official release of some kind. The copies of the complete series that are floating around the internet look terrible--they're taken from old VHS recordings and ripped to avi files.

The best I can think of is they have some of the episodes on youtube. You have a few of the episodes split into 5 different youtube videos each being about 7-9 minutes long. But at least you can watch a few of the Ed episodes in their entirety.

I have all 4 seasons and 1-2 look terrible, but 3-4 were sourced from satellite and look great.

I have never torrented anything in my life, but it's ridiculous that they don't give us any legal way to watch. I don't think it's right for them to protect their copyright by just keeping something unavailable.

Grey's is a much more successful show. But still, I obviously share your frustration.

There are some shows that have different music on the DVD (which really sucks, since for most good shows at least, the choice of music is an integral part of the art). But I think there may have been some specific legal twilight zone right around Y2K, for shows that were only on for a season or three. Others from that era I'd like to see either on DVD/Blu-ray or streaming:

Street Time
Get Real
Once and Again (maddeningly, in this case the first two seasons are on DVD but not the third!)
