LL Cool J even said this movie sucked

On a Conan O'Brien episode he said how much this movie sucked. When your star actor says the movie sucks... you know it sucks.

reply

Then why was he in it?

reply

Guess he can't divine the future and see how good/bad it would turn out - why is any actor in a bad film????????? Dumb question......

reply

"Then why was he in it? "

Could be for the $$$$$ , that changes alot of peopels minds about what to do.

"I say what I mean, and I do what I say. "

reply

The film was a flop, i guess he was just covering himself. If he 'admited' the film was bad, maybe he thought he could be able to get good roles.

reply

If that was his plan, don't think it has worked.

Many actors will take digs into films they have made that don't come off as well as they should have. Whatever he did or say is nothing new. Some actors who are in contractual obligation to make movies (which LL probably wasn't) do it big time.

The bottom line is... It was a bad film, he recognized that it was, and said so! Good for him. Every actor **think the big name stars in "Gigli"** can't admit when they have made a mistake in choosing a film. At least LL Cool J knows he messed up in choosing to be in this one.

reply

LL Cool J is a dummy. Why would he be in the movie and bash it? The movie was terrible no doubt, but don't bash the movie after you starred in it you money hungry fool.

I always tell the truth even when I lie-Tony Montana (Scarface)

reply

So, you're saying he should praise it, despite the fact that everyone knows what a lame movie it is? That sounds like a real fine way to make yourself look like a complete dumbass.

reply

Actually anthony lapaglia stated in a book that there is alot of hypocrisy in the movie industry. In the sense that you have to promote a film that you know you would not pay your own money to see.

I think LL Cool J was just being honest. Chris Klein has only just admitted it publicly recently that Rollerball was terrible.

I read Rebecca Romijn comments about the film at the time it came out. And she described the film as something from WWE. You could tell by her comments that she didn't sound very convincing and was not very excited about the movie.

reply

It should be noted also that LL Cool J only bashed the movie a year after it's release. That is a bit different, to Bill Cosby who openly told people not to waste their time seeing Leonard Part 6 before the film was even released.

Here's the interview

LL Cool J: Yeah, I’ve sat here before and lied to america, conan.

[ Laughter ] The movie sucks.

Conan: Really?

LL Cool J: “Rollerball” sucks.

[ Laughter ]

[ Cheers and applause ] This movie is good. This one’s good.

I'm listening to the actors commentary, with LL Cool J (also Klein and Romijn, but not on the same track) and he keeps saying how good the movie is. I think he did well in it, he can act, and he's entertaining to listen to (I must add I normally hate rap and rappers).

the thing i find ironic about this is that LL Cool J was the worst thing about the movie.

I would bet that part of the reason people hated this was because of him

right....

Still better than Slow Burn (2005), Deliver Us from Eva (2003) and Kingdom Come (2001)

I got the feeling watching the movie that they didn't enjoy filming it very much, I thought LL had the most stellar performance tho

Check out Fresh Nugs, wheezin' the juice...

reply

I actually liked deliver us from Eva which was hilarious
