Guilty Pleasure

Please let me know if there's anyone who actually enjoyed the movie! I loved it when I first saw it ages ago, and just finished watching it again. I know it's not groundbreaking or even Oscar-worthy.. but it's rather entertaining to watch if nothing else. I just don't think its rating is deserved or all its hate.

Anyway, it's my guilty pleasure.

Definately not one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I actually find it a good way to spend a night. If I had to say, like it or hate it, I liked it.

Same here, guilty pleasure. I loved this movie, the sport looks awsome. I had to find a way to deal with my rollerball craving so I found a videogame called Deathrow that is an extreme futeristic sports game for Xbox. One of the best games i've ever played.

Love the soundtrack. The movie is okay, like Street Fighter is okay.

I loved it!
Entertaining, some nice social satire, cool game and above all Rebecca Romijn-Stamos! This was the first movie I saw her in and now she's my favourite actress!
Anyway, great film, can't understand how anyone could hate it!

Up until last night, I hadn't watched this film in ages. I've owned this and the original for probably ten years now, and I've only watched them once before. I'm not an "extreme sports" fanatic, but this movie was quite good.

It was indeed quite okay. Certainly doesn't deserve a 2.9. All these 1 ratings... ridiculous. I gave it a 6, deserved maybe a 5, a 4 if you're severe, but no less. The worst part was Chris Klein's acting and the night vision scene. At first it seemed a good idea but, no, it wasn't. Best parts: McTiernan's direction, the soundtrack and Romijn.

The OP claims to have first seen this movie "ages ago"... yet he's writing in November 2006 about a movie that was released in 2002. Or IS he? The original movie was released in 1975 - which would truly have been "Ages ago."

I re-watched the Rollerball remake not that long ago and yeah...I do think it sucks watching it again, definitely not as much fun as the first time I watched (must've been in a damn good mood that day) but I don't hate it, it's certainly not as bad as people make it out to be. I think this is the lowest rated studio remake which is absolutely ludicrous, there are many more remakes that I hate.
