When have Sport movies ever been good???? this was not that bad.

I don't get it. Everyone gets in the hate bandwagon for this movie and everyone says it sucks,

But when Has a sports movie ever been any good? This was a fake sport movie, but it STILL WAS a sports movie.

the loudness, the over the top performances, the dramatic scenes. the cheesy dialogue, the dumb music ALL those are things that always happen in sports movies.

You might as well be watching American wrestling, and what is so wrong about that???

I could name a dozen of crappy sports movies that were worse than ROLLERBALL but people didn't hate them. There are so many ridiculous sports movies that no one hates as much as this.

I bet if this movie came out in the 80s (the same movie but with different actors) everyone would love it just for nostalgia alone.

I just hate how everyone loves to hate on this but this was never meant to be that serious. It is just another sports movie, that's it.

it's like wrestling, Once you can see it as that then it becomes better

You need to see more movies. Specifically ones about Sports.

Hey look--I won an award for just showing up! Yay!!!

well, why waste my time, sports are boring and sport movies are even more boring. thats the point.

@OP

I admit I'm not a big fan of sports in general, but that is total nonsense, there are very good and entertaining sport movies out there. Take for example the Rocky Series with Sly Stallone, or Raging Bull with DeNiro, or fun movies like Space Jam with Michael Jordan or Happy Gilmore with Adam Sandler. I could go on.

This one just plained sucked. Not to mention the fact that NOBODY gives a sh*t about ROLLER BALL. Chris Klein should have picked at least a half-way popular sport. I mean the dude has the build to play a Football player. He could have made a movie about Football, hell, he could have even made an American Pie "spin-off" and made a movie about his time in college with his scholarship in "Lacrosse".

But instead we have THIS disaster. The ONLY thing this movie has going for it was the fact that Rebecca Romijn was naked in it, and THAT'S IT.

No, the point is because you think sports are boring every movie about sports is boring is a pretty moronic thing to say. Just because you don't care for a particular genre of film that doesn't make all the films in that genre bad.

reply

but most sports movies ARE boring, the only reason you like them is because you like the sport,

It's like if they made movies about skating or movies about surfing and they sucked but because im a big fan of surfing I went "OMG THIS IS SO GREAT" even if it was terrible

that's what sport fans do about the movies,

I agree! Most sports movies I have seen are as cheesy and generic as they come. Rollerball is no different in fact its one of my favorite sports movies because it embraces its ridiculousness. Not to mention it has some great action scenes, good casting, awesome soundtrack. Like you said if this film came out in the 80s there would be much more love for this film. just look at the love for movies such as Bloodsport that embrace their 80s cheese and are the more awesome for it.

yep you got it. I agree with everything
