The Last Fight. Scene

The last fight scene is taken from Tsui Hark's "Once Upon In China". Xiong Xin Xin, the stunt double of Jet Li. Brought the scene to America. Its a great scene But not nearly as effective.

It was cool, but I think the best fight scene was the opening sequence in the tavern. I love how fast D'Artagnon fights those guys.

I agree shalgiva. I have watched Once Upon a Time in China and it was great (I am half-chinese). The Musketeer is unique because of sword fighting, not hand-to-hand combat.

The last fight scene was so odd that I laughed. It was not bad or poorly done, from what I could tell, I just hadn't seen anything like it. Chinese ( I'm guessing) style wire fighting in 16th whenever century France. It all made for a distinct mix.

You can not see through The Tunnel Of Doom.

lmao, the reason I came into this board was to post about this! Haha! The tragic thing is that even though they used wires (you can tell when D'Artagnon jumps onto one of the ladders, though it would be foolish to attempt at any rate without wires as a whole), they still look jerky and stuff.

I was very, very disappointed, though. The guy slid down that ladder with a look on his face of childhood "wheeeeeeeeeeeeee" :-p I was hoping through the film that the guy's death would be better than the guy in Three Musketeers, but it was, if possible, worse.

On the whole this film disappointed me greatly. It lacked the wit of Three Musketeers (like only one musketeer didn't have enough humour in him by himself to last the movie lol), and I dunno, it just seemed ... not too good.

But anyway, it surprised me that the guy does martial arts in this movie. And not just effective fighting, that very specific rope kung fu stuff. It just felt very out of place. I think it was a mistake to have Xiong do the fights in this.

Incidentally, did anybody feel that the graveyard scene at the beginning where Planchet tells D that he'll teach him and stuff, very reminiscent of Rurouni Kenshin OVA 1? (where basically Shinta is taken in by a wandering swordsman, and is renamed Kenshin)

Kung fu movies are like porn. There's 1 on 1, then 2 on 1, then a group scene...
