Should I watch it for...

I'm a big Stephen Rea fan, and when I saw a picture of him as Richelieu, I became curious about this movie. However, the whole picture seems a bit silly, and I would like to know if it's worthy to watch just to see Rea as the cardinal.

Freddy Krueger without Robert Englund is like an unicorn without a horn.

I'm actually a big Stephen Rea fan as well, but if you are going to check this one out just for that, it will probably be disappointing. Although the movie isn't nearly as bad as some people make it out to be, pretty much every character is a footnote next to D'Artagnan and Febre. The cardinal himself is in very few scenes, and he's as much under Febre's control as the King is under his.

Although the movie has some fantastic action scenes, that's the sole reason I would suggest seeing it for.

Theres only one reason not watch this movie. And that is if fun, entertainment, isn't in your vocabulairy. There is alot of movies nowadays that strife to provide that, throw i dont know how many thousands of dollars into commercials to say that they will provide that, and fail to deliver.
This one however delivers without breaking a sweat and it gets bashed because of it, but thats just how things work nowadays. By all means watch it. If fun still has some meaning to you, you wont be disapointed.
