I Like This Movie

Okay, I can understand that people don't like The Musketeer for a number of reasons that I'm well aware of (i.e. crappy adaptation, corny dialogue, goofs, plot holes etc.) but I find that despite its flaws, it never ceases to be exciting and adventurous. For example, the scene where d'Artagnan is fighting against Febre on the ladders was amazing and the confrontation in the bar where d'Artagnan is fighting while on the CEILING was great! The music was also amazing. I think people today take movies way too seriously...this is not the worst movie ever as some others have said although I'm not saying this movie was a masterpiece but I appreciated it and enjoyed it.

I agree it's a movie I like as well. Yeah, people take movies way too "seriously" in that they figure that a movie must fit a textbook formula that should be the same old standard reused again and again. Like think outside the box. I loved the fight-scene choreography which was the centerpiece of the movie. Pretty cool diffusion of Hong Kong martial arts action here.

Just wanted to say that I love your nod to "Bandits". Every once in a while I find myself blurting out Beaver and Ducks as well! =)

My brother and I have watched this movie like four times, because it is so awful, with such bad acting, horrible goofs and sheer mindless stunts that it loops around the pendulum of horrible and ends up back on the good side of the scale. It's unintentional comedy rating is a solid 10 out of 10, making it the funniest move I've ever seen that wasn't trying to be funny.

I thought it was pretty funny. Sort of a funny action movie, like Die Hard. Die Hard has pretty bad acting too, but we don't watch these films because of the acting. Just don't think too much when watching this movie, but enjoy. Sure, the acting could be better, but it wasn't so atrocious as others make it out to be. And Tim Roth as a bad guy (although a bit bland) with no conscience is always fun to watch. His part reminded me of his bad guy in Rob Roy. You can see Roth is enjoying himself in roles like this. I also liked the fact that Richeleu wasn't portrayed as Satan, like in the Disney flick. All in all, nothing extra-ordinary, just a plain fun weekend movie.

Indeed, i want any critic on this movie name a better mantle and blade movie thats better that came out past 2000.
Agreed its all been done before, its nothing new, but heck if it aint entertaining. Last time i checked, i watch movies to be entertained, and the story of the three musketeers is simply, entertaining.
Another one of those movies doomed to be forgotten into oblivion just because it doesnt live up to todays standards despite the fact that its a good movie, good old fashion entertainment.
Sad really, it deserves more credit. In my opinion movies like this score very high. You can feel right from the start theyre not after the great succes blockbuster million and millions cash machine, they just made a movie for the fun of making it, screw whatever it is people think about, it was to fun to make and it sure as hell was even fun to watch, a job well done.

This movie is absolutely horrible. The acting is bad, the dialog is bad, and the direction and editing is pretty shoddy too. But it's wicked entertaining. They really captured the fun and adventure and for a Three Musketeers film, that's the most important bit.
