Question for the German Speakers Out There

In the trivia section for Good Bye Lenin, it says:

"As Chulpan Khamatova did not speak enough German to improvise properly, she had to learn her (grammatically correct) sentences word for word. Because this did not sound natural, all of her phrases were translated into Russian and then translated back word for word to get a natural Russian accent with all typical grammar mistakes."

In that movie, she portrays an immigrant from the USSR, so it was OK that she had a strong accent.

However, in Viktor Vogel -- which was made 2 years before Good Bye Lenin -- she's supposed to be playing a native German. I don't speak German so I can't tell how strong her accent is. So, those of you who do speak German fluently, how bad is her accent? And if her accent is in fact strong, why do you think she was cast for the role of Rosa?

Her part was dubbed.

Then why did she play more German-speaking roles?

She portrayed in Hurensohn, a Tatort TV movie, Eine Liebe in Konigsberg-- all in German. ("Hurensohn" is from Austria, which is a German-speaking country.)

because she's cute?
dubbing is so common in German cinema that it wouldn't be seen as a big deal to use a good actress with the right "look" and then dub it.
