Anyone else reminded of the end of Hana-Bi by the end of this film? The beach, obviously, the two gun shots, the quick cut to the little kid playing and his reaction is almost identical. It's all in a completely different context, but it had a very similar vibe. Also, Dead or Alive 2 seems like an homage to Sonatine, so I'm taking a guess (and since Kitano is IN Izo) that Miike loves Takeshi. As he should.
