a little help please (spoiler)

i watched this movie on TV last night and enjoyed it for what it was. however, i missed the part when they figure out the scroll is not in the scroll but on his body. how do they figure this out? and was it always on the monks' bodies, for example his master before he was given the task?

also, are they ever gonna make a sequel?
