who agrees...(maybe spoilers)

this film had the potential to be great. the storyline (however unrealistic) made sense. and the film started off pretty good but then it became too much like a cheesy film. the little romance, the way certain characters spoke, the fact that the monk counldn't kill the german guy who's strength was undoubtedly less than the monks. it was a good film but it became a little chessy but still liked it i guess.

Agreed. I like it too despite being low to the Chow Yun FatĀ“s standarts....

Prostitute: What the *beep* are you doing?
Johnny: I'm gonna kill a bunch of people.

I agree that for the first 5 - 10 minutes it was not bad and showed potential that it might have been a good film, but it wasn't.

It then gets transplanted to America (for no other reason than that is where movies are made) and Monk(ey) meets up with the guy played by Seann William Scott whom I thought rather annoying and never engages your sympathy.

The standard issue 'love interest' Jamie King is sexy as hell, but she is also irrelevant and inserted into the film only because American films always demand it.
