Heather Mills' criticism

She has released the following statement:

I, as a limbless person, feel offended by this film. It's as if the model's life is over just because of the loss of a leg. Big deal! Many of us have to live through that everyday. I used to be huge as a model in Germany, and after my leg loss my career actually boosted. I even married a Beatle! This film encourages limbless people to be self-pitying and weak.

You cheesy lot of second hand electric donkey-bottom biters!

Heather Mills is an idiot. It doesn't encourage people to be weak at all, it's just a device used to highlight the ripple effect of the violence present in the film on someone who really doesn't deserve it despite her faults.

"I never miss"

This movie isn´t encouraging anyone to do anything, it´s simply showing stories of few individuals. How Heather Mills herself reacted to loss of her leg has absolutely no connection to this movie character. I think what she said is a bit judgemental, isn´t a person allowed to not be strong and perfect after such a horrific injury? People react differently to trauma and lashing out and depression are not surprising in this situation.
Also this movie shows just a few days of these peoples lives. There really isn´t much space to show some real character progression and all we see is how this woman is immediately after the accident. Who knows, maybe if we saw her six months later, she would be walking and modeling again...

Better to encourage limbless models to marry old men and try to get every dime they can manage to grab.

She gave me a smile so sweet you could have poured it on your pancakes.

This is a totally unfair criticism. Valeria's looks were her life personaly and professionaly. The fact that she was devastated and bittered after the amputation of her leg doesn't mean that she never found the strenght to carry on. It's just that the movie stops at this point for her.

I think she sounds like a *beep* (pardon my French). Any high profile model would probably react that like if they lost their leg - hell, even I would react like that and I'm just a crappy graphic designer.

I don't know who this person is, but anyone in this world will be sad, depressed and shocked if they lose a leg.
