Flossing Your Teeth With Lipstick On

It has always really bothered me when actors have make-up on in scenes where they should not have (visible) make-up. If it's part of the story, that's fine. For example, in GIRL, INTERRUPTED, Angelina Jolie looked crazed in the part she played and the "no-make-up" look helped define that. Yet, Wynona Rider woke up every morning with perfect lipstick. Jarring -- takes me away from the film.

I couldn't help my notice that Claire was flossing her teeth with lipstick on. Okay, so this couple flossed together (yuk) and she used the toilet while he brushed his teeth. Not my thing, but part of their relationship. Fine. But come on, flossing your teeth with perfect lipstick. Doesn't makes sense. Then, she went to bed with her eye shadow and lipstick intact. When I see that, my mind starts to wander to things like oily skin and make-up stains all over bed linens. This make-up phenonemon is hardly unique to this film, but it bothered me all the same.

Just an observation…I didn't lose any sleep over it (but I did not have lipstick on when I GOT that sleep! :0)

Yeah, I can let a lot of "little things" go, but when I see something so ludicrous as heavy lipstick on while flossing teeth, I think that the actor insisted on looking good and I suddenly am yanked outta the movie!

I didn't notice the lipstick, but I did notice that she went to the bathroom, didn't wash her hands, and then started flossing...and that's alllllll I could think about during that scene. Well, that plus how LONG it took these two to floss.

Ewww, I didn't notice she didn't wash her hands. Ick. Agree with original poster...how is a movie meant to seem realistic when women go to sleep with full makeup on. Stoopid!

reply

lmao i thought the same exact thing throughout that scene, not too hygienic to put your hand in your mouth after that task haha

That's all I could think about too. Hand in toilet wiping genitals...then straight to the mouth to floss...NASTY!

well i have fell asleep once or twice with makeup on from over-exhaustion....so i know you dont really get makeup all over the linen... unless you dug your face into it.
