what do you think of this event?

Probably the last wrestlemania to have 12-14 matches. I liked the double main event. Many of the matches were pretty good. I don't think it was ever expained why The British Bulldog-Berzerker match was scratched (time constraints?).

My favorite to come out of this was Roddy Piper-Bret Hart. A good technical match.

It was a good comeback to the previous year's Wrestlemania.

Actually, 2 hrs and 42 minutes, but who's counting? I would say time constraints. Either that, or one of the wrestlers had some trouble.

Thanks. I have Wrestlemania Vol 1 and 2 on DVD, and it just had the times on the back of the case. I looked up on Wikipedia that it was time constraints. It would've probably made a boring match anyway with John Nord just walking around the ring going "Huss, Huss" anyway lol. The Berserker was a weak character. Nord should've just stayed in the AWA and Pacific Northwest.

No, it probably would've been boring. Yeah, it was advertised on the back on the box of Wrestlemania VIII. I have a copy of it.

Great Wrestlemania. I just watched some matches from it yesterday. Bret/Piper and Flair/Savage are excellent, and Heenan and Monsoon are terrific again on commentary. 1992 was a great year for the WWF(E).

That with two matches on the card as awesome and as epic as Hart-Piper and Savage-Flair (FOR THE TITLE) they gave the main event to this retarded match with a DQ finish! I know Hulk Hogan is God and everything, but that was retarded.

God's finest creation!

I think that the WWE missed a huge opportunity to have Ric Flair/Hulk Hogan headlining a Wrestlemania at a time when both were close to their relative primes... I know Savage/Flair was a great match, but not to put the two biggest names in the industry against each other for the belt at the biggest show of the year was a mistake...
There has to be a horrible explanation for this?

If I was booking it back in the day, I would have let Savage and Roberts go at it at Wrestlemania, wrapping up their classic feud.... I would have matched Sid in a feud with The Undertaker, effectively turning him face, as the feud Taker had with Roberts effectively did... Coming out of RR, I would have had Sid look for his respect by waging war with the one man everyone else is afraid of, not Hulk Hogan, but the Phenom!

Then Obviously, Hogan vs Flair in the Main Event!... They were close to having Hogan/Flair if you remember. There was a vote held to see who would be named the #1 Contender for WM8... The choices were Hogan, Savage, Piper, Undertaker, and Sid... Hogan won, but then for some reason Sid's jealousy storyline took over, leading to him turning on Hogan... And becoming obsessed with ending Hulkamania..
He should have come out of that press conference with a chip on his shoulder, seeking respect... Convincing himself the only way to get respect is to destroy the most feared man in the business... This would have made for an epic match, and a nice pre-cursor to their later feud...

Hart/Piper was great!

It would of helped the final score in my review of this show if they had gone ahead with Bulldog/Berzerker and scrapped that waste of airtime interview with the LOD.

Watched it live, we get a pretty good opening match then I had to sit there with my friends for 8 minutes while the LOD got time to talk.

I know this is now 2014, but still, history is history.

Honestly, I think your idea would have been better over what we had. I always was lazy and just said...id rather switched Hogan/Savage...meaning...

Hogan Vs. Flair
Savage Vs. Sid

But your idea basically still only mixes 3 matches.

Instead of...
Savage Vs. Flair
Hogan Vs. Sid
Undertaker Vs. Jake

We would have had...

Jake Vs. Macho Man
Sid Vs. Undertaker
Hogan Vs. Flair

Also, Scifi, you know your stuff and ID RATHER have seen Bulldog Vs. Berzerker over the LOD interview.

As for the Warriors return, they could have either had Warrior/LOD make a WM return squash match. Have a 6 man tag, with LOD having a mystery partner. Now opponents? A few guys they could have feed them. Beverly Brothers easily. Now a few guys they could have used:
Col Mustafa
Rick Martel (My choice...how was he not in WM8? He quit or hurt?
Haku
Warloard
Barbarian

Any of these guys with the Beverly Brothers or even nix the Brothers and you could have Martel, Warloard, Barbarian. Either or.
LODs partner is Warrior, have it a fast 3 minute squash, done. Warriors back.

Or of course have Flair/Perfect beat up Hogan after the match and he interfers, for an easy-peasy.

but again Id def taken Berzerker Vs. Bulldog over the LOD interview!

I liked it as a nostalgic time capsule with the debuts of quite a few wrestlers who went on to become quite big and also the final PPV of Miss Elizabeth.

I also liked the Hogan-Sid matchup though as others have pointed out, Flair and Hogan might have been better, but I still enjoyed the Flair-Savage match too.

Very good. But brick not hit back!
