What is up with the talking (no-voice) heads? Someone tell me.

You're talking about a video game from 1990... *before* most games were capable of speech. WC2 pioneered speech in video games and made soundblaster a houshold name. The only versions of WC1 with full speech are the Sega port and super wing commander (the remake for 3DO and Mac - with all new graphics too).

The cool thing about the Wing Commander games is that they always used the best technology out there to give you the best experience. Wing Commander II made you go off and buy a soundcard, III made you buy a CD-ROM drive, IV had a DVD-ROM version if you wanted to.
