Cable Company descrption of plot Waaaaayyyy off.

I looked at the summary of this story that the cable put in it's description. And the idiots are waaaayyyy off. The description went as follows "a singer meets the sleazy man who raped her". That is way off base. She meets the brother of the man who raped her. I don't even think anyone in the company has watched this movie. How irresponsible. Does anyone know who gives these cable companies these descriptions. I think their rating systems are flawed too. They give some real crappy films 3 4 stars and turn around and give a real compelling movie 1 1/2 to 2 stars. what idiots.

i second that. my Verizon Fios rating for nearly all listed movies (Encore, Starz, TMC, Showtime, etc.) is TWO stars (out of 4).

Ridiculous.

I've stopped reading ANY film descriptions, including Netflix, for the reason you're talking about. Plus, these boneheads tend to give too much of the plot away (professional film critics do this too.) Roger Ebert is one of the most careful reviewers I've followed. Leonard Maltin as well.
