Oscar-winning performance (SPOILERS)

By Paulie the Raptor. The rest of the cast took the back seat and let her carry the show, which she was more than capable of doing. What a great actress!

This movie was superb. It excelled in unexpected ways, showing the script writers' and the director's deep understanding of this type of angst. Unfortunately, I was expecting one scene that never materialised. I was sort of hoping the new girl would console Paulie in a hot scene, or that there would be a scene with all three girls. However what there was, was actually really nicely shot and acted. It was great.

I started watching this movie with a different sense of enjoyment. It's a perfect setting: the private boarding school for rich girls. It's a great hook. Later on as it unfolded as a sensitive drama I was still enjoying it and wasn't disappointed at all. The ending was incongruous however. I didn't think it was necessary to sacrifice Paulie like that. She was a tough character.

I absolutely agree, ss336 Perabo excelled in the lead role.
All this time I had passed on seeing the film, assuming it was a fluffy, lightweight story with not too much substance.
I watched it tonight and once again appreciated Perabo's ability to let emotions wash over her expressive face.

I wrote a script with a friend a couple years ago and one night I was channel-surfing and there happened to be a face close-up of Piper Perabo (on her TV series). Almost involuntarily my arm rose, my index finger pointed and my mouth said, "Casey. It's Casey." Seeing LOST AND DELIRIOUS vindicates my "dream casting" idea for the script co-lead character - and that Perabo is a really capable actress.

Piper Perabo was excellent in this role and should have been nominated.

Paulie was such an interesting character, and Piper did a really great job portraying such a twisted yet troubled character. I'm surprised she didn't get more recognition for it. I also think Mischa Barton was very good in this movie, which isn't something I would ever say since I don't think she can act all that well.

I'm feeling rough, I'm feeling raw, I'm in the prime of my life.

I agree. Piper Perabo was outstanding.
