How many people do you think knew about Paulie/Tori?
I'm just curious to know if anyone else thinks other students were aware of their relationship before Allison discovered the two together. I think that most of Paulie and Tori's classmates were aware of their relationship. Even if they weren't sure of it, I think they probably had their suspicions. I mean, the way Paulie stood up for Tori in Ms. Bannet's class and how they held hands in choir, as well as the way they were always that little bit more touchy feely (Paulie dancing with Tori in the beginning) and always looked at each other lovingly. I just think the other students in their year were probably aware of the relationship, but just never said anything or didn't care. Plus, in the beginning Paulie mentions how Ms. Vaughn probably didn't want the two of them "up there all alone" or something like that. That could just be her saying that but I feel like it had a deeper meaning (more than just Paulie's awareness that they were together; I think it was a sort of sign that others knew about their relationship). I've also read on here that people think their friends were aware they were together. I agree but also think their entire year (or the majority) knew about it as well. You know, one of those things everyone knows about but just doesn't mention or talk about. If this is true, I think it makes the film even more poignant, in that no one really cared. They all just either turned a blind eye or didn't judge them because of it, etc. The problems only began when Allison found out and Tori in turn made Paulie out to be a creep. It makes one wonder how the film would have been had Tori not turned her back on Paulie and fabricated a bunch of lies. Would the other students have berated them? Would they be outcasted? Or would just the fallout between Tori and her family be the focal point?
