The Charger?

I always thought the vampire's Charger was a 1969 model, but I'm watching the DVD and they keep referring to it as a '68 in the featurette. I thought I knew Charges better than this. Which is it?

i thought they said something about it being customized with parts from different years but i could very well be wrong or confusing it with another movie

very cool car in any case

Actually, I've heard that about the Charger used in The Fast & The Furious. Who knows which is right?

i think the fast and the furious charger was a 69 500 model,, the charger on this movie was a 69 as can be cleary id'd by the split grill and long tail lights,, the 68 has round tail lights kind of like a corvette only smaller,, the 699 and 70 have long tail light s a matter of fact.. but the 70 hs a diff front end

I just watched the "special feature-hard body co stars" and they state clearly that the charger is a '68.

It's definitely a 69. As South TX stated, you can tell by the split grille and the long taillights. My personal favorite is the 68, and they have round taillights, as well as round sidemarker lights on the front fenders, and no split, or chrome divider in the middle of the grille.

It is possible that the '69 Charger was an early production model, purchased in '68, but with all the '69 effects... or maybe it was a '68 charger that had been in an "accident" and they used '69 body parts to patch it backup... or maybe the original owner decided he liked the front end (or tail lights?) of the '69 better and had it customized a bit ... then Vin Diesel raced it in another movie? (ok j/k about that last part).
