Worst Adaption EVER!

I read the book and really wanted to see how they turned it into a film, only to find that it is nothing like the book. I quit after only 10 minutes it was so bad. I don't understand why, if you like a book enough to turn it into a film, you would completly disregard the content of the book. For example:

Book: Ashon has 2 daughters, no sons.
Film: Perry is his son, he has no daughters.

Book: Ashton runs away.
Film: Ashton is kidnapped.

Book: Ashton runs because his daughter has acid thrown in her face.
Film: Ashton is kidnapped for a secret formula.

I could keep going, but after such glaring mistakes, I just couldn't take it. It was a good (if not great) book. Hell, they couldn't even give him the same children! Damned stupid film.
Other bad adaptions?
