Easily could have been 10 times better...

Without those bloody accents! The child actors were brilliant but their performances were ruined by poor direction--the decision to make the characters speak with terribly fake Polish accents! It made the movie seem like a joke and took so long to get used to I found myself unable to pay attention to the true intelligence of this film until the end. Neither did the accents add ANYTHING to the movie--they were speaking English, for goodness' sakes, not Polish, so why even bother with the accents? It's not as if Poles speak their own language with such halted voice.

other than that, though, a very honest and well-crafted movie.

A lot of the actors have Polish names. I was thinking maybe they are Polish and learned English and so therefore they have accents. No?

It was not that bad. Some people let the strangest things bother them.

Easily could have been 10 times better... without the unrealistic end (almost all that what happened after the shooting at the forest)

My Significant Other is a Polish National and these "fake accents" were spot on. At the beginning of the film I though I cannot believe how accurate they are. I spend a lot of time with Polish 1st/English 2nd speakers so I know this. More so I have been to Poland. Check out the credits ... almost everyone associated with the film is Polish. May I suggest you travel?
