Unless everyone who signs chips in a million-odd dollars to help finance it, I honestly don't think it will happen.
I try to be content with the Pirates of the Caribbean movies - they draw on the same source as Monkey Island, and Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom are a lot easier on the eye than Guybrush!
If they did make a movie based on the games, ignorant types would accuse the makers of ripping off PotC anyway.
It is a shame though...

That's why I'm just making my own. It'll be a no-budget, backyard film, but it'll be something. I got a friend who looks an awful lot like Guybrush, and from there it's all too easy...
