In the Phatt Island library, there are a group of romance novels, all with titles that suggested a disasterous relationship, and all written by a name thats an anagram of Elaine Marley.
Looks like Elaine found a way to vent after she dumped Guybrush! ;)

Yeah, and even funnier is the way Guybrush reacts after reading them (maybe he only has a "unique" reaction for one of the books, not all). I remember I was bored once as a kid, and went through ALL the books in the Phatt Island library. There are a lot of in-jokes and funny moments.
