before coming here i envisioned i would find a topic saying poor chevy, i mean honestly, not a joke, many seemed to look forward to see chevy star in something again, but this has to be the most obscure chevy chase movie, i've never heard of it and there seem to be more posts on this board before rather than after release. okey, now about this movie, some few funny parts, like his wife explaining his habits "it's like living with rain man", but that's just it, it didn't used to be chevy's co stars were funnier, i don't know what's happened with him, but he was funny until 1992 in the invisible man, but then in 1994 in cops and robberson, he was like a completely different actor, i just don't get it, and people i know gets the same vibe, a guy don't change like that between two movies, compare the flicks before and after 1993, he's totally froze like he's seen a ghost or something, still i would love to see him return as clark griswold for the affection of that franchise, starring of course, not as a cameo in the awful 2014 sequel/remake mess, he'd been better off starring with beverly d'angelo in this, the pair in this is a terrible mismatch, chevy looks older than his age, and his co actress probably looks younger than she is cause i've heard about her for years, so throughout the movie i get more of the vibe she's his daughter rather, they have zero chemistry and like they're in two different movies, or more likely there's something off with chevy's performance as i'm recalling his other interactings from 1994 onwards, it's a downer to say it cause he was my favorite actor when i was a kid. anyway, i gave up on this after 20 minutes, if i watch the rest it'll be because of his co star, the co actress and her own pair saves the movie.

I'm not really a big fan of his movies outside the vacation movies and Caddyshack. He has a good sense of dry delivery, but it seems a litlle niche for most movies.

It sucks too because he has a lot of potential. He just needs the right script or improv environment.
