Star Trek fans blame the May 2005 finale of the UPN series for derailing the franchise's viability on TV, until Star Trek: Discovery was launched on CBS All Access 12 years later.

I only watched it last year. I had heard of it but I thought it might be a little overblown. Nope. They were right. It was the worst.

Just watched it - it was awful. Must have been disappointing to end after only four years and to finish with such a poor show must have added to the pain.
