i actually heard

that the reason the show ended was because someone from the cast had died in 9/11? thats why they just didnt come back? i dont know how much truth is behind that but i figured i would throw that out there!

That is so weird that you said that. I just commented that the show just went off the air suddenly after 9/11? It was so bizarre.

I just came here to post/find out info on why/if the show ended suddenly after 9/11. That's how I remember it, but I could've been distracted with all that was going on at the time. So we never found out the conclusion?

I remember that Tuesday night (9/11) when Spyder Games didn't come on. I was like 10 so I didn't understand the terrible tragedy of 9/11. I thought it was just an accidentally plane crash. Anyway, I was wondering why Spyder Games wasn't on. MTV keep showing Coldplay's Yellow video if I remember correctly. Later my mom explained to me what happen on 9/11. Yet, like a few months ago my mom and I were talking about Spyder Games and she said the same thing. She said that one of the actors, directors, producers, etc might have died on 9/11 and that is why the show was cancelled.

I was 15 and thought it was an accidental plane crash, too. :/

The show just stopped airing at 7 and 7:30 starting on 9/11.. Instead it just continued airing at 11 and 11:30 until the season ended, if I remember correctly. But I never got to see the end either. I don't remember Yellow being played, I just remember 9/11 footage.

This show has haunted me for years! I still want to see the end!

No, even without 9/11 it was always a long-shot that it would've returned for a second season - they had wrapped the filming months and months before it started airing and kept pushing it back. Obviously, something changed at MTV in between ordering and filming the show as MTV didn't seem invested in it at all.

9/11 was just another blow for them, but from my knowledge no one involved (at least critically) in the production was killed. If they wanted to continue I'm sure they just would've had a "in memorian of" like most shows where people die do.
